Rumaki

2 lb Brown sugar
3 cans Water chestnuts
2 lb bacon
White wine

1. Marinate whole water chestnuts (the bigger the better) in white wine at least 2 hours or overnight.

2. Line broiler pan with aluminum foil. Layer broiler pan with dark brown sugar (approximately 2/3 of the brown sugar).
3. Cut bacon in half. Wrap 1 piece of bacon around each water chestnut and secure with toothpick and place in brown sugar with toothpick sticking up.
4. Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar over the top of the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts.
5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Then broil to crisp the bacon. Serve hot with sauce.
