Grandma’s Sour Cream Cookies

1 Cup Butter, softened
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Sour Cream
2 Large Eggs
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla extract

1 Tsp. Baking soda
1 1/2 Tsps. Baking powder
1/2 Tsp. Nutmeg
1 Tsp. Salt < 4 1/2 Cups Flour Rasins and sugar for finishing (optional) Cream together sugar and butter. Add sour cream, eggs and vanilla. In another bowl, combine baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, salt and about 3 cups flour. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, adding remaining flour as needed to make a still dough (may not take all of the flour) Roll out on a floured board to 1/8" thick. Cut with cookie cutter. Place on a greased cookie sheet, pressing a raisin (if desired) in the center of each cookie and sprinkling with white sugar. Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until edges have just begun to brown.
