Spicy Black and Red Bean Soup

This is one of those oh-so-easy recipes. Throw it in your Crockery Pot in the morning, and it will be ready to eat when you get home from work.

1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1 1/4 cups sliced carrots
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups chicken broth
2 tsp. white sugar

1 pkg. frozen shoepeg corn (16 oz.)
1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed (15 oz.)
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed (15 oz.)
1 can Italian-style stewed tomatoes (141/2 oz.)
1 can diced tomatoes, drained (141/2 oz.)

Combine everything in the Crockery Pot and cook on low 8 to 9 hours.
