5 Hour Beef Stew

1 lge Potato, cut up
3/4 Lb. Stew Meat, cubed
1 sm. Tomato,cubed
1/2 c. Celery, diced
2 lge. Carrots, cut up
1 sm. Onion, cut up

1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Sugar
2 1/4 tsp. Tapioca (instant)
1 Garlic clove, minced

Mix all ingredients and place in an oven casserole. (not necessary to brown meat). Cover. Bake in a 250 degree oven for 5 hours. May be stirred once during baking, but not necessary. To vary flavor, you can add 1/4 c. dry red wine.
