Caramel Apples II

5 Med. Apples, washed and dried
14 oz. bag Caramels (49)
2 Tbsp. Hot Water
5 wooden popsickle sticks

1. Unwrap caramels and place in deep glass mixing bowl; add water.
2. Cook in microwave, uncovered, 2 min, 45 seconds or until caramels are melted.

3. Stir occasionally and watching carefully so mixture does not boil over.
4. While mixture cooks, insert sticks into stem end of apples.
5. Dip each apple into hot caramel mixture, turning to coat.
6. Place apples on greased waxed paper. (If mixture becomes too stiff, just return to oven for about 20 seconds to heat).
7. Refrigerate until set, about 20 minutes. Store in a cool place.
