Abalone Chowder

4 slices Bacon, diced
4-6 slices Abalone, pounded and diced
1 lg Raw potato, diced
1 med Onion, finely chopped
1 sm Clove garlic, crushed
11/2 C Hot water
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

3 C Rich milk, heated
1 tsp Butter or drippings
Salt and pepper to taste

Fry bacon until lightly browned, then drain all but about 2 tablespoons of the bacon drippings from the pan. To the bacon add the abalone, potato, onion, and garlic; sauté until these ingredients are golden brown.
Add the hot water, cover, and simmer until abalone and potato are tender. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well blended. Serve piping hot.

Serves 5 or 6
